I would have liked a water/dust rating on it but perhaps that will come in the next model. įor me, the best part was the somewhat sealed design and the long range outdoors. I use this unit with ROS and it was fairly simple to get going with this this repo. I use a mac normally so the Windows requirement was the biggest hurdle. I had to use a Windows computer so that was the downside there but took about 20 min for me to navigate their site and download a few things before i figured it out. I was able to get the demo software up and running. I was a little worried about the software aspect of it after reading some reviews but It wasn't bad. I've used it on a robot with ROS and created maps that are far better than the other Lidar units I have used. This is a great, small, and powerful 360 degree lidar.
